LSPD Radio

OOC note: The radio is what really brings the city to life and makes interaction with other players possible. You can do your own thing, protecting and serving the NPC citizens of Los Santos by yourself, but the real fun happens when you join other human players in enforcing the law and keeping the peace. That is why you want to use the radio like a real police officer, announcing your calls, your location, calling for services, and calling for assistance. Doing so will create opportunities to meet and interact with other players.

LSPD does not use ten-codes

To some extent, Phoenix Protocol LSPD is modeled on the Los Angeles Police Department, which has never used ten-codes over the radio. Also, the use of ten-codes is being phased out nationwide in favor of plain language to improve inter-agency communication procedures. For more information, see the Department of Homeland Security Plain Language Guide.

Radio protocol/etiquette

Radio transmission needs to be clear and concise. Speak slowly and briefly over the main radio channel. If conversation is needed, switch to a different channel. If a scene is extended and uses a lot of radio traffic, switch to a tactical channel.

Begin every transmission with your callsign, eg "Lincoln 304, code four, suspect in custody."
